Our services
Depression
The first step in overcoming depression is often the hardest one. We use an evidence-based approach to treating depression that will put you on the right path towards a brighter future.
Our psychologists have been trained in a range of interventions for depression including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy, EMDR, ACT, CFT and narrative therapy.
Anxiety
Our psychologists are experienced in supporting clients who may be experiencing a range of anxiety conditions including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, healthy anxiety, panic disorder and specific phobias.
We have been trained in a range of interventions to treat anxiety disorders including CBT, interpersonal therapy, ACT, CFT, and EMDR.
Trauma
Dr Thorburn is trained in eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is a member of the EMDRAA (EMDR Association of Australia). She has supported clients who have experienced a range of interpersonal traumas across a range of ages.
Other interventions such as CBT, interpersonal therapy and CFT may also be involved in treatment depending on individual requirements.
Life stages and changes
If you are struggling with identity, self-esteem, life decisions, sleep difficulties, addictions, career change, or relationship difficulties, we can help. Our psychologists support clients of all ages and stages across the lifespan with proven therapies and valuable support.
Eating disorders and body image
Dr Thorburn is a ANZAED credentialled clinical psychologist with experience supporting clients across a range of eating disorders including Bulimia, and Binge Eating disorders.
We offer a supportive and highly personalised approach, with treatment options including CBT-E, self-monitoring, and motivational interviewing. For all clients aged 25 years and under there is an expectation that family members will be included as an important part of treatment provision and support.
Chronic pain and illness
We have extensive experience working with clients who are experiencing chronic pain and illness, including motor vehicle accidents, strokes and acquired brain injuries.
Dr Thorburn has worked at inpatient rehabilitation wards in both public and private hospitals in Victoria.
Neurodiversity and ASD
We support neurodiverse clients such as those living with Autism Spectrum disorder and their carers. Our psychologists are able to support NDIS participants who are either plan-managed or self-managed. Unfortunately, we are unable to support participants who are NDIA managed.

Groups
We provide a variety of supports to groups, across the lifespan including areas such as mindfulness and social skills.
Future plans include adding the Westmead feelings program for children with Autism and intellectual disabilities and their parents along with peer support groups.
We are also currently taking registration for adult support groups including grief and loss, and women living with Autism spectrum disorder.
Training and consultancy and Business coaching
We provide consultancy to a range of businesses and stakeholders across areas such as:

Clinical supervision
